Some people tend to walk with a cloud above their head. Always
in a bad mood, thinking about what is wrong in their lives and
avoid making changes because they think of the negative outcome
that may come. I must admit it, we must try to anticipate what
may come ahead but; you have to be careful if you only see the
dark side of things.
When you anticipate the future in your head and all you can come
up with is a negative outcome. You are unconsciously setting
yourself up for failure. Before you even try! Why? Since you are
already convince that your goal is not attainable, you won’t
even bother trying. Why waste your energy? Right! For a better
explanation here is an example of a pessimist and another from
an optimist’s perspective:
Scenario
Mildred wants to start the business of her dreams but, knows
that she is lacking many of the required skill to be successful
in her quest.
Pessimist Mildred thinks I am not qualified to run this type of
business therefore; I would fail terribly if I try.
Optimist Mildred Thinks I don’t have some of the required skills
but I can learn them by attending seminars, taking some courses,
buying how to books etc. I know I can do anything I put my mind
into.
Did you notice the difference? Pessimist Mildred can not see
outside her cloud and keeps walking feeling sorry for her self.
While optimist Mildred saw her shortcomings also but, came up
with a solution to the problem. Instead of moping around she
decides to take action and make the necessary changes required
and conquers her dream.
Now which Mildred do you want to be?
Think positive,
